 Jan 2022 We're hard at work going through the old tapes and selecting songs for our forthcoming Best Of Norway album (date: TBA) Here is a song from Rising Up From The Ashes, that won't be on the Best Of album, but it's one of my favorites, so I spent a couple of hours remixing. Hope you enjoy. Here is POWER OF GOLD Back in late 2000 after NORWAY's "Arrival" album came out, I was super pissed that it was all over the internet for free! This was the time of the birth of streaming, NAPSTER, and bit-torrent sites were sharing all over. Remember, there was still My Place and MP3.com. It was all brand new. back then. Anyway I wrote this song about getting downloaded for free, Norway mate Glenn Pierson helped out with some lyrics, but we never did anything with it-it was just a goof song really. A novelty song. Flash forward to 2004, and an audio group I belong to was putting together a group album, so I recorded this in 2 days ! For any long lost Touchables fans out there, original drummer Steve Golden came over and did the drums and another friend Dave Baldwin came over to record the vocal for me. Kind of a mashup of my Todd Rundgren & Joe Walsh influences along with my predilection for "Wall of Sound" productions, LOL.
